Kings Basketball Teams

Following a debut season, the men's basketball continues to grow and now has two teams in the Wessex league. The two teams called the Monarchs and the Knights.

Training and Membership

Members Training Sessions

The men's basketball teams can train up to three times a week:

Saturdays Scrimmage 2 - 3 pm, at Furze Platt Leisure Centre, Maidenhead, SL6 7NQ. (Also available for non members via PAYG)

Mondays and Thursday evenings 8 - 9.30pm, at Heathfield School in Ascot, SL5 8BQ.

The sessions are led by experienced coaches: Alec, Head Coach of the Berkshire Kings & Queens Club, Coach JP and Coach Nino. Together, they aim to improve the players techniques, work on set plays designed to create scoring opportunities and prepare for upcoming matches.

Saturday Open Scrimmage via PAYG

This will be available only for the Saturday open scrimmage session from 2pm - 3pm at Furze Platt Leisure Centre, at a cost of £8.50 per session, plus any SPOND app administrative fees. Players must book and pay in advance via the app before arrival. There will be no walk-ins allowed. Attendance will be capped at 10 players on a first-come, first-served basis. Please enquire about PAYG so you can be added to SPOND and book to play.

Player Recruitment

Both teams are always looking for new players. If you feel that you would like to be part of the club, whether you are an experienced player or a beginner, then get in contact and come along for a free trial training session. On the other hand, if you would just like to join the Saturday scrimmage at Furze Platt Leisure Centre 2 - 3pm, then you can do that via our PAYG session.

Competitions

Home matches for the Monarchs are usually on Monday evenings and for the Knights on Thursday evenings at Heathfield School in Ascot.
