Frequently Asked Questions
What experience do I need to play Basketball?
No experience is needed, our club caters for players of all abilities, those who have played for years to players who are just beginning to learn the basics.
I am not really interested in playing matches does that matter?
The club offers training only and team memberships. The training only memberships are for those who would like a social run around and get to know the team. The team players take part in the trainings as well, so you could get to join the team in the future if you wanted.
I would like to just play as and when I can, is that possible?
Yes. We have a Saturday social which is a PAYG session. Please enquire about PAYG so you can be added to Spond and book to play. Our other sessions are memberships and these are not expensive.
Do I need my own ball?
No. You do not need to bring your own ball. Everything is brought to each session by the coaching staff. We aim to provide the highest quality equipment we have available to every session.
Is the session for adults self led or is there is a coach.
The session for adults is lead by our coaching co-ordinator who is Level 3 qualified in Basketball coaching and has 15 years experience of coaching the sport. There is also at least one assistant coach at every session.
How are the Junior sessions run?
Our clubs ethos is very different to most, we limit the number of players in each of the junior and youth squads to enable attendees to build relationships with other squad members as well as with the coaching staff. All sessions are programmed by our coaching co-ordinator and he/she attends all of the sessions and leads most.
If I would like to come along to a trial, what should I do?
We offer a free trial to all players who are interested in joining, for this you will just need to fill in a form for yourself or on behalf of your child (where child includes u18). Once you have attended the club will offer you some options to choose from, but there is no pressure to join.
